Ok, just had to write this little post to give my boy some love. It really ticks me off when people say that Clay isn't a good artist, or that he is just a manufactured fad!
Just because he got his start on a Reality TV show does NOT mean that he is not a great talent!
I practically got in an argument with this dumb guy at work today. I was talking with my friend (who is going to Clay's concert with me) about the concert, and this dumb guy said that he couldn't believe we would go see such a talentless wonder. EXCUSE ME? If you don't like Clay's style, that's fine. I can respect your opinion. But to say that he is talentless, that he can't sing?? Well, that argument is just plain stupid. If you have ears, you can tell the boy can sing!
I for one think he is an AMAZING talent, and hope that he is around for a really LONG time.

Tuition Re-imbursement Blues

Ok, I'm really pissed.
My company, GapInc, offers tuition reimbursement. Up to $5000 per year for courses that are covered under the guidelines They denied my application saying that my courses/and or major are not 'covered under the guidelines'. Here are the guidelines:
The purpose of Gap Inc.'s Tuition Reimbursement Program is to develop your work skills, so the courses you take must be related to your current position or one you can reasonably expect to attain within GapInc. Courses must be taken at a regionally or nationally accredited institutions to be eligible for reimbursement.

Ok, so I am taking courses at a Regionally accredited school.
My major is Graphic Design.
I work for Gap freaking Inc! (Specifically I work for Gap.com) There are about 50 positions currently open for Graphic/Web designers.
What am I missing????
THEY ARE SO FULL OF CRAP!!!!!
So now, I'm in the process of arguing with the tuition reimbursement company. They are really pissing me off. It is totally unjustified. I deserve that money.
I'm so bitter right now!!

Also, did anyone see Angel last night?
My God. Could it be any sadder?

Well, I just made a new graphic for a challenge at blend_it and I'm pretty happy with it. The theme was 'love' so, of course, I had to use Buffy and Angel. I wish that we could make them wallpaper size so I could put it to good use, but the max dimensions are 600x600. Feel free to comment and let me know what you think:

On another note, I was excited to learn that Clay will be the 'headliner' in Columbus when he and Kelly come in March. I'm so excited that he will be closing the show, I mean, I guess it doesn't matter that much, but I was hoping that was the way it would go. I swear, I'm so excited about the concert, I can hardly stand myself! I'm such a dork.

Ok, can I just say that I am so sick of Janet Jackson's boob! I really can't take one more report on it!
We all saw her boob! We know what happened!
Please, can we let it die?? I mean, I agree it was inappropriate to have on CBS, but it's over with!
It really just annoys me when the media takes a particular event and runs it totally into the ground.
Ok, I'm done ranting now.

Ok, so here is a banner and Icon I made for my friend Sonia. I really sort of totally distorted the image, but I really wanted a whimsical, light and airy feel to the whole thing, so well, he's sort of, blue. Hope you like them. It really is a gorgeous picture of him.

Many thanks to Cherrystyle for the awesome layout. I finally figured out what all that 'create style' crap is for. Whew! Now if I could just learn some HTML I will be good to go. Oh well, I'm sure I'll learn enough of that when I actually take my Web Design class this year. Anyway, I made the background image. Any comments are welcome. I'm missing a lot of filters b/c I haven't re-installed them when I switched my computer over. I feel like I can't really do all that I could before, but for now I'm too damn lazy to download them again. Bleh.
I feel bad b/c I've been ignoring all of my forums lately. They probably wonder where I've been, but I've been uber busy lately. I'm going to make an effort to post more...I swear!

Ok, it is like almost 1 in the morning, and I've just finished another LJ layout. whew! It's Anya. She's so purdy. I think I'll leave it for awhile. I'm such a dork.

Today seemed to go really fast, it seems like that is always the way whenever I have a day off.

We had some friends over tonight, and I'm bummed out b/c they are moving away in a few weeks. It's so hard to find friends who like to come over and play with your kid, you know? I'll miss them.

I'm ready for spring. It's so cold here, even the dog doesn't want to go outside to pee. I can't say that I blame her.

Well, You've probably been wondering where the HELL I've been -- or maybe not.
In either case, I haven't had access to a computer b/c my computer died.
Isn't that just my freaking luck? I sign up for online courses, and the flipping thing just dies! The only time in my life I actually NEED to be online, I can't be. Oh well. I am getting a new computer tonight. I'm so excited -- I'm like a kid before Christmas!!!! Woo Hoo!!!!!!!
I think I seriously have a problem b/c without my computer at home for the past week or so, I've felt like I was paralyzed.
I'm a full-fledged addict.
Anyway, I'm at my Mom's house right now, and just thought I'd write a little something here so you all wouldn't think I was dead!

I'm so excited!
I just got accepted to American Intercontinental University's Visual Communication/Graphic Design program.
I have been waiting to go back to school for so long and finish my degree!
Classes start in February, and they are all online, so I can take them from home, and still work and spend time with my family! Yay!
It's only going to take me about 13 months to finish b/c I had a lot of credits that transferred from Wittenberg. I can't wait! And when I'm done, I'll have a degree in something that I love to do.

Well, first off, I'm still sick.
Bleh!
And, to make my wonderful day complete, my husband got laid off. Poor guy...he tries so hard. I think he is just going to go back to school. I'm planning on going back to school too, but it's so hard when you have young children and you work full time. Does anyone know of any funding for working parents? I've looked around but haven't found much yet.

Either way, money is going to be tight for a while. :(

Well, I made a new layout for my blog. It's of course, Buffy and Angel. Could there be any other? I don't really think that anyone reads this thing anyway, so I probably slaved away for no reason. :) But, if you like the look of it, feel free to let me know. Feedback is always appreciated.

I finally went to the doctor today...turns out I had strep. Oh joy. Hopefully the antibiotics will start to kick in soon. I was waiting in the office, and there was a million people who were coughing and hacking. I think the whole world is sick! Tis the season!

Hello Everyone!
I'd like to say hello to all, and thank you for all of your happy holiday wishes. So many of my 'E' friends took the time to send me greetings, and it is really appreciated.
I got a digital camera for Christmas. I'm so excited. Welcome to the age of technology!! I can't wait to start making WP's of my family and friends now. Too exciting!
Why must I always get sick during the holidays? I got the flu on Xmas Eve, and am still sick. Blah.

Can I just say that if it isn't one thing with this house it is another?
Today, our main drain became clogged, and flooded our entire basement! Oh joy. Roto Rooter to the rescue! (To the tune of $250 I might add) It was tree roots. Damn trees! Now I'm going to have to wait to buy my Buffy Season 5 DVD's! Can you see where my priorities lie?
