Ok, just had to write this little post to give my boy some love. It really ticks me off when people say that Clay isn't a good artist, or that he is just a manufactured fad!
Just because he got his start on a Reality TV show does NOT mean that he is not a great talent!
I practically got in an argument with this dumb guy at work today. I was talking with my friend (who is going to Clay's concert with me) about the concert, and this dumb guy said that he couldn't believe we would go see such a talentless wonder. EXCUSE ME? If you don't like Clay's style, that's fine. I can respect your opinion. But to say that he is talentless, that he can't sing?? Well, that argument is just plain stupid. If you have ears, you can tell the boy can sing!
I for one think he is an AMAZING talent, and hope that he is around for a really LONG time.

subject: Tuition Re-imbursement Blues

Ok, I'm really pissed.
My company, GapInc, offers tuition reimbursement. Up to $5000 per year for courses that are covered under the guidelines They denied my application saying that my courses/and or major are not 'covered under the guidelines'. Here are the guidelines:
The purpose of Gap Inc.'s Tuition Reimbursement Program is to develop your work skills, so the courses you take must be related to your current position or one you can reasonably expect to attain within GapInc. Courses must be taken at a regionally or nationally accredited institutions to be eligible for reimbursement.
Ok, so I am taking courses at a Regionally accredited school.
My major is Graphic Design.
I work for Gap freaking Inc! (Specifically I work for Gap.com) There are about 50 positions currently open for Graphic/Web designers.
What am I missing????
THEY ARE SO FULL OF CRAP!!!!!
So now, I'm in the process of arguing with the tuition reimbursement company. They are really pissing me off. It is totally unjustified. I deserve that money.
I'm so bitter right now!!
Also, did anyone see Angel last night?

Well, I just made a new graphic for a challenge at blend_it and I'm pretty happy with it. The theme was 'love' so, of course, I had to use Buffy and Angel. I wish that we could make them wallpaper size so I could put it to good use, but the max dimensions are 600x600. Feel free to comment and let me know what you think:

On another note, I was excited to learn that Clay will be the 'headliner' in Columbus when he and Kelly come in March. I'm so excited that he will be closing the show, I mean, I guess it doesn't matter that much, but I was hoping that was the way it would go. I swear, I'm so excited about the concert, I can hardly stand myself! I'm such a dork. |

Ok, can I just say that I am so sick of Janet Jackson's boob! I really can't take one more report on it!
We all saw her boob! We know what happened!
Please, can we let it die?? I mean, I agree it was inappropriate to have on CBS, but it's over with!
It really just annoys me when the media takes a particular event and runs it totally into the ground.
Ok, I'm done ranting now.

Ok, so here is a banner and Icon I made for my friend Sonia. I really sort of totally distorted the image, but I really wanted a whimsical, light and airy feel to the whole thing, so well, he's sort of, blue. Hope you like them. It really is a gorgeous picture of him.

Many thanks to Cherrystyle for the awesome layout. I finally figured out what all that 'create style' crap is for. Whew! Now if I could just learn some HTML I will be good to go. Oh well, I'm sure I'll learn enough of that when I actually take my Web Design class this year. Anyway, I made the background image. Any comments are welcome. I'm missing a lot of filters b/c I haven't re-installed them when I switched my computer over. I feel like I can't really do all that I could before, but for now I'm too damn lazy to download them again. Bleh.
I feel bad b/c I've been ignoring all of my forums lately. They probably wonder where I've been, but I've been uber busy lately. I'm going to make an effort to post more...I swear!
